Bad-ass Americans and responsible gun owners/operators train. That’s what responsible people do. Training is essential to build proficiency in skill. If you're going to own and operate a firearm, you must understand your responsibility in doing so. Jared Segraves with 212 Firearms Training invited me to understand this firsthand on a recent Saturday retreat where regular people get together and sharpen. It was clear from the moment I arrived that these men have a bond of trust and a desire to be great at what they do. All friendly and helpful to each other. The level of understanding of their weapons platforms and years of training gave them an opportunity to train hard and fast. Rarely do you have an option to move and shoot, and you shouldn't until you work up to that level. It takes years to advance to the level of these great athletes. Pushing harder and faster yet never risking safety. I was astonished with the operation of the class and Jared’s ability to convey complex theories with tact and ease. It is truly unlike any other mentor I have had the pleasure watch work their magic. I would compare Jared's abilities to a great grandmaster like Bruce Lee. Both continually mastering their trade while giving freely to those who will hear. His ability to lead a class to another advanced level and skillset with every reuniting of this group is a talent few sensei’s possess.
